Missions Conference in Florida

Pretty soon our family will be on the road to Florida.  We are looking forward to it, but we have a good bit to accomplish before we leave.  We moved into our new place on Saturday and are in the process of settling in.  It's been great and the kids love a basement they can use as a track for their scooter and tricycles.  They barely ventured into the basement of our rental, now we can hardly get them to come upstairs unless they are hungry.

This is actually just before the move, right now we can only get one car in the garage!
Now, back to Florida.  The reason we are heading down there is I have the privilege of speaking at the Christ Community Church Missions Conference.  My friend and fellow pastor, Frank Matthews, called me a while back and asked me to speak.  I'm still not quite sure why, but it is a great privilege and we are looking forward to getting back and seeing friends.  I am also greatly looking forward to teaching.  I'll be using John 10 as my main text for both my Friday night and Sunday morning messages.  I would appreciate you prayers as I am still preparing these messages.  Pray that what I have to bring is both glorifying to God and is for the good and joy of the people.
We'll try and post some more photos of the house once we get back from Florida.  We appreciate your prayers for the trip as well.  The kids are excited, not only to see friends but we are going to spend a day in Lego Land as well.
Before I sign off, I want to share a verse from Psalm 34.  I have been reading through that Psalm daily for the past week or so and verse 5 really jumped out at me.

"Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed."

What a tremendous reassurance and promise.  It spurs me on to look more to Christ in all things...personally I would love to have radiant be a word used to describe me because I am so focused on Christ and all that He is.

  1. When you said that you were speaking at a Missions Conference, I assumed you meant NCCC's. I had no idea you were heading back down to Florida for one! I hope you all have a great time there with old friends, and that God will bless the conference richly.

Oh, and the new house looks great!
